Dr. Marshall also provides the full spectrum of non-surgical enhancements such as Botox injections, fillers to the lips, cheeks, and lower eyelids, and chemical peels. These procedures are done in the office and require no anesthesia, although Dr. Marshall does offer local and topical anesthesia for some procedures.
This procedure, also called augmentation mammoplasty, helps women who want fuller breasts, including those who have reduced volume in their breasts after pregnancy or weight loss. It usually involves using breast implants to increase the fullness and modify the shape of your breasts.
During your consultation, Dr. Marshall will discuss the different implants available, explain the pros and cons to under vs on top of the muscle, and take time to answer all of your questions.
Breast implant surgery usually begins with an incision that is well-hidden under your natural breast. Dr. Marshall will then insert and position the implant either under or over your pectoral muscle, depending on factors such as the type and size of your implant and your body type. The incision is then closed with several types of sutures, skin adhesive and surgical tape. You will be able to leave the surgery center or hospital the same day of surgery, and recovery usually takes 2 weeks.
A sagging, protruding abdomen can occur with age, after pregnancy or surgery, or after significant weight loss. If you’re overweight, losing pounds and exercising are still good strategies for loosing belly fat. But these methods may not give you the result you want, especially if they leave you with excess skin. A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, can remove that skin and excess fat, and give you a firmer abdominal profile.
For a tummy tuck, Dr. Marshall will make an incision that begins near one hip, follows natural body creases to just above your pubic area and then continues up to the other hip. Most of the skin and fat between that incision and your belly button will be removed, and the underlying rectus (6-pack) muscles will be tightened with sutures. Dr. Marshall will then pull down the skin from above and suture it to the skin below. A small incision is made for a new location for your belly button, which is brought through and sutured in place.
Skin cancers are extremely common and are usually basal cell or squamous cell carcinomas. Melanomas, the more serious of all three types, are becoming more and more prevalent with the use of tanning beds. All three types of these skin cancers can be completely removed without needing chemotherapy or radiation, IF they are caught and treated early. Most skin cancers can be detected by a dermatologist, internist, or family physician. you are over 50 and/or have a family history of skin cancer, it is a good idea to have a "whole body skin check" by a board-certified dermatologist.
Dr. Marshall is an expert at removing the cancers from your skin and closing the skin so that your scars are barely visible. Most of these surgeries are done in his office and under local anesthetic (similar to what you would receive at the dentist). Occasionally, Dr. Marshall will advise that the operation be performed at a surgery center or hospital with sedation or general anesthesia.
If you’ve had a mastectomy or lumpectomy, you can choose to have surgery to rebuild the shape of your breast. Dr. Marshall will work closely with your breast surgeon to coordinate the timing of your reconstructive surgery and ensure the best result. We also work with women who have had surgery in the past, or at a different facility.
The physical changes from breast cancer surgery, even if they are not severe, can be harmful to a woman’s psychological well-being. Reconstructive surgery aims to cushion the emotional impact of this surgery by reversing some of the physical changes.
Facial and neck creases, lines and wrinkles, loose and sagging skin—all these can change the way we look as we age. These effects can happen even sooner for people who have had lots of sun exposure, smoke cigarettes, or have lost a significant amount of weight. Cosmetic surgery can improve these signs of aging, and help put your appearance more in line with how young you feel.
There are several surgical options for reducing wrinkles and sagging skin on your face, and Dr. Marshall will discuss the different methods available to improve your facial and neck aesthetics.
Losing weight can help you feel better and also improve your overall health. If specific, stubborn areas remain a problem, liposuction can help. Even though it is technically surgery, liposuction is often performed in an office setting or in a surgery center. Liposuction removes fat deposits and helps reshape your body contours in places such as thighs, hips, abdomen, waist, upper arms, cheeks, and neck.
This procedure uses special surgical equipment to suction away excess body fat. There are several types of liposuction, and Dr. Marshall uses tumescent liposuction, which is the most commonly used method for this procedure.
